MB programs collaborate on leadership development

A November gathering marked unique collaboration between Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (MBBS) and MB colleges in Canada, institutions whose common purpose is to develop leaders. With the recent launch of Regenerate 21-01 by the Canadian conference and the growth of Ministry Quest (a youth leadership development program of MB Biblical Seminary), the focus of these organizations is clearly on promoting and equipping leaders.

“This chance to gather, learn, and dream together was an incredible opportunity,” said Ministry Quest director Cam Priebe. “We are willing and open to see what we can do together to develop leaders for service in the church and in the world.”

Representatives from Canadian Mennonite University, Columbia Bible College, Bethany College, the Canadian conference, Ministry Quest, and MBBS attended the International Leadership Association conference together in Los Angeles, Cal., Nov. 12–15. They also met separately as a group to discuss the implications for the MB denomination. The purpose of the consultation was to increase intentional leadership development and collaboration with the schools and churches of the MB conference in Canada.

“The goal is that the dialogue will continue and will bear fruit in the development of leaders in the years ahead within our schools and churches,” said Doug Berg, associate professor of leadership development at MBBS – ACTS, Langley, B.C.
