LCC celebrates 20 years

Led by a marching band, the LCC community paraded to downtown Klaipeda carrying flags from the 20-plus countries represented at the university. Founded by invitation of the newly independent Lithuanian government in 1991 as the Soviet Union was crumbling, LCC International University in Klaipeda, Lithuania, marked its 20th anniversary Sept. 21–25 with a variety of celebrations. Events included the dedication of LCC’s second student residence on campus, named Enns Hall in honour of Ed and Laura Enns of Abbotsford, B.C. Ed has been the construction manager for several major building projects on campus. His late wife Laura served at LCC in various capacities. Though LCC is not owned by any denomination, Mennonites from Canada, the U.S., and Germany are involved in many roles as faculty, staff, and board members.
