Kindred Productions supports children’s ministry workers

Eight people representing five churches attended a resource and information night for children’s ministry workers at the Canadian conference office in Winnipeg, Sept. 30.

In the first event of its kind, Kindred Kidz, a new resource line from Kindred Productions (KP), invited churches within a two-hour radius of Winnipeg to send their children’s ministry workers – paid staff or volunteers – to an evening of learning about resources available from KP, and sharing the challenges and needs of children’s ministry.

Michelle Penner, sales representative for Kindred Kidz, walked participants through the Life Steps assessment tool to help them pinpoint two areas of ministry focus. Samples of curriculum and ministry resources were on hand to peruse, and Elenore Doerksen, customer service representative, explained how KP can work with churches to procure curricula of any kind, Anabaptist or otherwise.

Before the evening closed, the children’s ministry workers talked about their needs and how KP and the conference could serve them better. “We want to give the message that we exist to support you so you can focus on what’s important in running your ministry,” said Penner.

Another Kindred Kidz event will be held in Manitoba in March, and the team hopes to travel across the country to offer resources and build relationships with MB churches across Canada in the future.
