Kelowna conference set to draw youth from all over B.C. – again

The Willow Park Church crew organizing a major B.C. youth conference called Rush is pleased: they have secured major speakers and musicians to headline a 2009 event that no longer must limit registration.

Last year, attendance had to be capped because of the lack of a suitable site. This year, a “RushDome” has been organized on Kelowna’s Lakeshore Road, and special arrangements have been made to billet attendees or utilize local hotels so a greater number of young people can be accommodated.

Starfield will lead worship, Jon Buller and Fresh I.E. will be featured artists, and Daren Streblow will entertain the crowd with his comedy. The main speaker will be Shane Claiborne, author of The Irresistible Revolution.

“We believe that the kids crave pure spiritual meat,” says organizer Joel Feddersen, “and Rush is a place that has radically changed our youth over the past five years.” The event literally draws youth from all over the province.

The 2009 event runs Friday, February 27 to Sunday, March 1. Details can be found at www.rushyouthconference.com.
