Moving From Fear To Freedom: A Woman’s Guide To Peace In Every Situation
Grace Fox

Harvest House Publishers, 2007
239 pages

Fear is real – even necessary at times – but God doesn’t intend for fear to rob us of the peace that is available to us. The book Moving from Fear to Freedom: A Woman’s Guide to Peace in Every Situation gently but firmly challenges and encourages women to discover the “upside” of fear by focusing on God’s character and drawing strength from his timeless promises.

Grace Fox, speaker and author of several books including 10-Minute Time Outs for Moms and regular columnist for Women Alive online magazine, shares real life stories of women, including herself, who have overcome some of their greatest, most debilitating fears ranging from fears of the future, to worries about children’s well-being, to letting go of the past.

Moving from Fear to Freedom offers a pro-active, practical approach to facing fears head-on from a mature, life-affirming and biblical perspective. At the end of each chapter, the book features three topical applications which guide the reader through truth-seeking questions, meditations on God’s promises in his Word, and prayers, which Fox, a member at Central Heights Community Church, Abbotsford, B.C., has eloquently adapted from Scripture.

I found the book exceptionally personable, uplifting, and affirming. The poems and quotes sprinkled throughout the book also add a fresh and creative dimension to the material. This is an excellent read for the Christian woman seeking release from fears that may be preventing her from living the life she is meant to live.
