CBC reviews denominational partnership

The executive committee of the B.C. MB conference is reviewing its partnership arrangements with Mennonite Church British Columbia, relative to their shared ownership of Columbia Bible College (CBC) in Abbotsford, B.C.

In the past, the division of capital between the two denominations reflected the approximate ratio of students representing MC and MB churches, normally about one-third, two-thirds, respectively. Recently, however, the proportion of MB students has grown, sparking current discussions.

MB conference minister Steve Berg says the two conferences agree on the need for pre-emptive clarity, should patterns change further. He said the one-third, two-thirds ratio may best be maintained by goodwill, despite the current shift in student populations.
