Pastor Jean Baptiste Ndjao Mangamba Aug 5, 1956- Oct.8, 2012

Adapted from a tribute presented at a memorial service in Gretna, Man., Oct. 20, 2012, by Lloyd Letkeman, MB Mission mobilizer, and Paul Peters, participant and leader in MB Mission short-term programs.

Together, we grieve the loss of a faithful fellow servant, pastor Jean Baptiste Ndjao Mangamba, a man after God’s own heart. He battled for one month with liver cancer and went to be the Lord on Oct. 8, 2012.

We rejoice because Jean Baptiste did all things for the glory of God and the building of his kingdom. His testimony was evidence of God’s pursuit of him and the resulting great things done for the kingdom of God. Jean Baptiste (JB) was a Congolese/Central African Republic man, an outstanding husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, pastor, teacher, and servant.

JB touched the lives of thousands of people around the world with his faith, joy, and perseverance. His prayers healed some, comforted others, and gave strength to many. JB was an assistant pastor at Paroisse Missionaire De Kintambo in Kinshasa, DR Congo. He taught and inspired many students at the University Centre of Missiology. JB was involved in various youth leadership programs, and he hosted and cared for many young adults through MB Mission’s TREK and ACTION programs.

He always helped others in any way he could through giving of his time, money, wisdom, and prayers. JB shared his dreams, hopes, and passions for communities, families, nations, and friends – always pointing toward building the kingdom
of God.

Jean Baptiste is survived by his wife Laure, a strong warrior in the kingdom of God, and their children: Manuella, Hanniel, Benjamin, Johannie, Malika, and baby Jean Baptiste (born Oct. 13). These children have been a blessing to all who have met them.
