BCMB hosts youth pastors’ day

ABBOTSFORD, B.C.

For the first time, the B.C. conference of MB churches brought together youth pastors for a day-long retreat at Stillwood Camp and Conference Centre near Chilliwack, B.C. Thirty youth pastors attended.

The day gave participants an opportunity to meet one another, many for the first time, and provided times for prayer and reflection, through circles of prayer and lots of conversation.

The event also provided inspiration and a context for the youth pastors. BCMB conference minister Rob Thiessen outlined the provincial conference’s priorities. Joel Fedderson of Willow Park MB in Kelowna talked about reaching and discipling youth. And Joel Mayward and Matthew Price shared “what it takes” to be “on mission together as a whole church.”

Camp ministries director Merv Boschman says, “Jesus was among us and speaking to our hearts and minds.” He says feedback from the day was “overwhelmingly positive” and there’s an appetite to do it again.
