My husband and I were at a crossroads. Larry was accepted at Trinity Western University, but we were afraid. We had an infant son to care for. Where would the money come from? When Trinity offered a job as head janitor, we had to choose between taking a secure income or following Larry’s dream. One day, unexpectedly, a professor and his wife came to visit. They fell on their knees, right there in the hallway, and asked God to show us the way we should go. Larry felt led to choose education and became a teacher. During his time as a student, we felt led to adopt a baby girl. There was hardship involved in both decisions, and financially, they didn’t make much sense. Now, looking back over 49 years of marriage, they were two of the best decisions we ever made.
