After Hilda accepted Christ at 12, she was baptized and attended Bethany Bible School, Hepburn, Sask., for 2 years. She and Clarence settled on a B.C. acreage in the 1940s. Dedicated to her family, Hilda was also passionate about writing and playing Scrabble. She served God by teaching Sunday school, singing in the seniors’ choir, and playing piano for Melody Strings. Through all her struggles, Hilda remained firm in her commitment to God. After Clarence’s debilitating stroke in 1995, he and Hilda moved to assisted living in 1999. Hilda remained there for 10 years following his death, moving to Menno Home for her final 2 years.
