Disney has opted out of the Narnia film franchise, a few months before filming was to begin on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Disney cited budgetary concerns as their reason after Prince Caspian performed poorly at the box office and in DVD sales, but the Los Angeles Times reported creative differences between Disney and Walden Media, the company that produced the films.
